Here's my journey
Hi, I’m Tiffany, Welcome to The Love of Food & Travel!
I am a native of Chicago, Illinois and have spent nearly 20 years as a TV news journalist. Since being bitten by the travel bug upon receiving my first passport stamp to La Romana, Dominican Republic, I’ve made it my mission to see the world and inspire others to do the same. This dream of mine started as a blog and has evolved into a business with a mission to give back. Since 2018, my writing has been exposed to millions of readers and now I am setting out to educate and inspire children who come from underserved communities like me. I am currently a volunteer at Chicago Public Schools where I speak to children about my travel experiences and my plan is to one day curate educational trips both locally and internationally for elementary school youth. I believe that making travel accessible to kids can give them higher self esteem, help them to perform better academically and give them a broader, more open-minded view of the world in which we live.
Every experience is important. Whether it’s a visit to the hole-in-the wall restaurant in your neighborhood, a road trip a few hours away or a lavish getaway to a foreign country. Here, I’ll show you that simple moments can be just as beautiful and impactful as grand ones. It is my hope that people will be inspired to get up and GO! The biggest investments made in life are not in things, but in the memories we make along the way.
My first children’s book “Msomaji’s Magic Carpet” is sure to inspire even the youngest traveler to DREAM BIG! Go to www.MsomajisMagicCarpet.com and grab your copy!
Eat well and travel often!
